I'm always 7-7, just the am and pm changes.

So yeah, up at 5-530 Sunday.

Well, it's your call I guess. Just wasn't sure if you'd want to be bouncing around all day in your truck the day before getting up at such a punishingly early time.

Haha, it's a sunday.

Usually means not much happens in the puppy factory.... :p

But you pick whatever works for you. I have no schedule when I'm not working.

@seapotato Hey Ryan, I'm assuming you probably can't do this now with your alternator issues? If you get it sorted and are keen, I'm still up for a trip this Saturday; otherwise, can try a little later into September. I know @stevebradford wants to check out the Rhodonite mine in September sometime....That is a pretty easy/fun and rewarding trail up there and would be great with a few trucks....

Just impulsively booked second half of next week off to explore in the area past Port Alice with my son. If anyone has time for that and is interested; let me know. Hope to cruiser-camp at Side Bay and/or Gooding Cove (beaches that can be driven on). Also will check out lakes/rivers out there and do some fishing on them (bringing canoe I think).

Haha yeah I probably shouldn't... I'd be fine as long as I didn't stall and was home before dark. :hillbilly:

If you want a place to camp in nanaimo area on the way up to break up the drive, you're welcome to use the back yard.

Shoot some frogs while you're at it.

Thanks for the offer man; really appreciated. At minimum will shoot a text to see if you're around and will drop by to say hi.

Side Bay I was told once was a great place to go with only few people knowing about that area. Now on the weekends I heard upwards of 20 to 40 trucks are up on the beach camping. I would love to head up that way before they close the access up for good.

:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

I was wondering if that might be the case. And to think I found it myself on google maps and not reading stupid f*&%ing millennial blog.....

Well, I'll plan some back up options then.

If you're free to get out let me know Rob. Wednesday through probably Saturday for me. Maybe even longer if it works out well.

Wish I was a liIttle better set up for camping, my wife has been doing some back country hiking and camping i will see what she has available.

Me and the old crew from VI Cruisers did a quick one night run up to the damn around Gordon River. In the fog zone so it was very green and did rain on us during that night. Graham Chris Steve and myself, we hit a very large tank trap spent a hour or so getting through the rocky part and managed to make it to the other side. We spent the night near the damn and did some late night wheeling up to I think its called Tuck lake the back way, very challenging trail. Chris mentioned how quiet it was up at the campsite due to the tank trap, we passed a few young ones who decided against trying to pass through it.

Glad you guys got out Rob! Sounds like a good time. Tuck lake area is fun.

No worries, this is all last second. Might just go with my son and see what we can find.

Life is busy. Just going to do 2-3 nights at a Lake. Will bring canoe and fishing gear. Still have to pack quite a bit, so will leave late morning to noon tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Ah, it'd be nice. Had thought if you were later in the week I'd maybe take the 61 out for a burn but tomorrow is too soon.

after a power nap it's oil/filter/valves and some toying with IP settings.

I should probably check the timing again too if I can find the fitting I made...:hhmm:

Another time. I'm always open to trips up there - challenge is just trying to match up people's days off or vacation.

You home today? If I get out at a decent time I'll shoot you a text and try to drop by for a quick visit. That said, I have a LOT to pack yet....like everything, haha.

Yep, not going anywhere. Hopefully get the 61 into shape to be driven normally.

I have some time off in October, swmbo wants to get up to the north end.
