I know very short notice, plans fell through ,so have free weekend .anyone interested in maybe hitting hurricane creek ,or BB aka parkway ride ,before it closes ?

Yeah ,with the government shut down, the website is not getting updated ,about closures.
Everywhere I went last weekend the parkway was closed, even in spots that didn’t look bad. I was thinking that because of the shutdown, no one was there to re-open spots that got closed. Might still be some snow around HC, or up at max patch.

Since it was a beautiful day ,went hiking instead.
