So we are going to try a new property this month something new for the stock to intermediate guys.
Going to head over to central mass and wheel at the Gremlin Graveyard, limit is 20 trucks and they suggest a Ma OHV reg sticker should be in hand.
Will post up more info in couple days as far as meeting spot and time please post up if interested
Thanks Jonathan

Just to add the land owner of this property has asked that a $20 per vehicle donation be made.
This will be collected at the meeting spot TBA.
This is stock friendly, though there are a few obstacles you can play on if so inclined but they are 100% able to be bypassed.

The NEA is working with the landowner in the hopes of being able to cut more difficult trails.
Also the NEA is asking that if you smoke, to do it IN your vehicle and extinguish it IN your vehicle.
There's a lot of downed timber in the area and the fire risk is high.

Thanks,
Bob

Sounds like a good family trip. We'll be there. OHV sticker is suggested or manditory?

How do we get a sticker in such a short amount of time? The state is back logged as it is. I'm still waiting for my LTC.

OHV sticker is recommended.
We are not the law so we are not enforcing it, just be aware that we have informed you of the possibility of a ticket/warning.

Shedule was posted 2/6/12......not short notice.
I can think of many reasons why your still waiting for your LTC but that's a whole other discussion!

I am planning on doing a registry trip this week.
If people want to scan and email me their registrations and PayPal me the state fees I will TRY and be a runner for the club and get stickers mailed to you.
I can also drop the stickers to someone who will be at the meet on the 19th.

It's short notice to me. And I already been approved for a LTC. It's just I'm not the only one.

I can do that. What day you planning on going?

I can go Monday.
I will also call them in the AM and make sure I'm able to do this for others.
I can't see why they wouldn't.

Thanks. I appreciate the effort. Keep me in the loop.

whats the point of OHV sticker if its private property?

Look here, thank Scott Hatch, NEA

All ORVs must be currently registered in Massachusetts under MGL c. 90B. New Massachusetts Recreation Vehicle Laws require the display of registration on the left and right side of the vehicle. Additionally, motor vehicles registered under chapter 90 must now also register as a recreation vehicle under chapter 90B (on/off road motorcycles, Jeeps, etc.) when used for recreation or pleasure once they leave a public way as defined in chapter 90. Out of state recreation vehicle registrations are not valid in Massachusetts.

Contact the Division of Environmental Law Enforcement for registration information:

Massachusetts Environmental Police, Registration Bureau

Locations to purchase ORV registrations:

Registration Information:
REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Cost (not including Sales Tax):
PLEASE BRING PROOF OF SALES TAX PAID
Resident ATV and/or Snowmobile $40 - Two Years
Non-Resident ATV and/or Snowmobile $30 - One Year

If visiting any Registration office, please bring a check or money order made out to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. No Credit Cards accepted!

I spoke with someone from the MA DEP dept. today and was informed that I can in fact register other people's vehicles with the MA OHV sticker.

I also spoke with someone on Tuesday who had no idea about anything on the sticker and informed me that even with an out of state registration, I still had to show proof of sales tax paid.

This should all prove for interesting trip to the registry.

I will head to the registry Tuesday morning, if your interested in me being a runner and getting you a sticker please send me a pm and we can sort out the details.

This will be the only time I will be doing this in the near future.

Thanks,
Bob

That was my question for the out of staters, they actually told me if a receipt of sales tax paid was not shown the only other alternative was to repay the original sales tax price, which I totally laughed at.

I had the feeling that this person had no idea what she was talking about.
I hung up and called the next day and was told if the vehicle was currently registered then the sales tax had been paid.

As I said, my trip to the registry should be an interesting one!

I would just keep them in the glove box. I figure as long as you have it just in Case you get stopped they are there.
