I am not exactly sure. This is the initial discovery after noticing a front knocking sound. I had the shop pull the wheel assembly after the alignment was checked.I assume the result of too loose wheel bearing adjustment?
You'll be fineThanks for the feedback! I'm two weeks away from our annual San Juan foray (We have a house in Lake City). Just making sure these wheels are safe to travel and play when we are there. I did have them install new bearing packs - BTW.
Wholly Moley!!! that's nuts! Please break down the 'cleaning with an emory cloth + 1000 grit'. Is this done with a dremel (or similar)?View attachment 2021769

This is what I had to contend with not long ago. Bearing was basically welded to the spindle. Got it off, cleaned up the spindle with emory cloth and 1000 grit. New bearings, races, etc. Been on several long trips since including offroad in Colorado and Utah without issue.
Cut off a full length strip of emory about an inch wide and just work it back in forth over the radius of the surface. Do one section at a time until you have completed the entire circumference. Hold it by the ends and work it like you are polishing shoes.Wholly Moley!!! that's nuts! Please break down the 'cleaning with an emory cloth + 1000 grit'. Is this done with a dremel (or similar)?
