i haven't heard too much about this subject so i wanted to know if they are good or bad to have just in case i might need some down the line. what are some pros and cons about having them? what kind of problems can they cause? any input would be appreciated. thanks.

no issues provided you can get about 6 good turns on the threads to achieve a good torque down....

running 1/4" up front on the '60 without any problems -- your wheels will just be extended that much further out of the wheel wells....be sure you torque to spec and recheck periodically

Most spacers I've found are alumimum. I've never ran them, but if/when I do, I plan on going with steel. So fare, these are the only one's I've found, kind of pricey though.

Ever since the white spoke 7" wheels that my 78 rolled off the showroom floor with Gave up the ghost, each of the sets of white spokes I've tried have needed spacers to clear my front calipers. The ones I have now require 1/4" spacers up front. I have run these alum. spacers for 10yrs (100,000+ miles) without problems. I've heard the same ominous warnings from tire guys that everyone else does. I keep lug nuts tourqued down good and otherwise don't worry about them.
