Hey I found a set of new take offs from a 2015 4Runner at Les Shwab, they want $400 for them they are 17x7 does anyone know if this will be a problem since the GX470 factory size is 17x7.5??
Will this cause any brake issues? I am looking for a second set for off roading.
Thanks

They'll fit. Brake issues come from anything smaller than 17" diameter.

Excellent! I will pick them up. Now for a good MT tire? Any recommendations??

Depends. What is your budget on tires? And how much noise and weight are you ok with?

I run 17x7 T4R wheels with 265/70R17 KO2's with no problems at all. the tiniest of rubbing in reverse but I am sure I can fix it when I get around to it

That's a nice setup, I like the black, these are what I picked up.I had the STT Coopers on my Tundra, I did like them, no problems other than a little noise after the first 25,000 miles. I would like to keep stock size, so no 70 ratio, that way I can use everything as a spare tire too. I have looked the Goodyear Durotrac and the BFG KO 2. Both come in my size. Too bad because it seems all the really good MT tires are all in 265/70/17.

Goodyear Duratracs are a great tire. I have run them on 3/4 ton diesel through clay, snow, and rain with excellent traction. Running 255/75-17 Duratracs on my GX currently. Low/no noise and great traction. Even my wife was surprised how quiet they run on a two day trip to Eastern Oregon last week. My .02 worth.

@Finnman 265/70r17 Destination AT's fit fine in stock spare location (even with KDSS). I wouldn't want try anything bigger up there as it is tight. @JLee noted in another thread that the 255/75r17 duratracs do not fit in the spare location with KDSS.

That's some great info to have!
I have made up my mind, going with the 265/70/17 :$@&"?$; M/T's!
I figure the suspense should hold for a few weeks till they are shipped and mounted!

I don't, but I can take some! I will post some soon for you

I'm still interested to see a picture, but I calculated the difference between the trd wheels and stock gx and the trds should stick out only about .1" wider than stock, so I don't expect it to look much different.

Sorry it took me so long! I totally forgot, and haven't been on in a while. Wheels are 265/70r17. They only rub a tiny bit when backing up at a full turn, and even then it's minimal and could probably be alleviated with a heat gun and some trimming. They stick out more that the stock wheels did, but are well within the fender flares. I've Had them on now for a couple of road jaunts and a small road trip and have loved them!

Thanks, that's a nice truck. I'm going to try putting 265/70/17s on my stock wheels and see how I like it before buying new wheels.
