I am about to buy an FJC (07, yellow 6mt), and would like to know your fuel milage with the mods you have on your truck!

If possible please include:

1) 5AT or 6MT
2) list of mods (lift, tires, etc.)
3) type of driving hwy/city
4) Approximate miles/tank

right now I'm about 12MPG in my 80 series, and I would like to know the difference, or what I can expect!!

Thanks gang,

Darren

17.1 MPG ...

Hey, man.

I have the 6MT. I drove it off the lot with the 3" OME lift with the "light duty" (i.e. 884) front coil springs. It has 33" Mickey Thompson ATZ's (almost time for new tires -- 40K miles). It got about 17.1 miles / gallon with that setup.

Last September, I had the Demello front bumper (no hoops) and skid plate installed. With these I also had a warn M8000 winch installed and upgraded the front coil springs to the "medium duty" (i.e. 885) set. Interestingly, it still gets more than 17 miles / gallon and it drives as smooth as the day I got 'er.

My driving is about 50/50. Most of my drive to work is highway but we always drive it around town ("we" == "the family -- me, wife, and 2 1/2 year old").

Lemme know if you have any more questions ... I'll do my best to help.

20mpg-all freeway
auto
trd supercharger
ome heavys all 4 corners
stock tires/wheels
arb front bumper
factory sliders

When my FJC was stock (or mostly so), the best mileage I ever got was 23 mpg on the highway, with a tail wind. Now that it is heavily modified and much heavier, I get maybe 14-15 mpg around town and 16-17 on the highway.

1) 5AT
2) Icon/OME 3" lift, 34" Toyo MT tires on steel wheels, 4.56 gears, steel bumpers front and rear, winch, steel sliders, two steel skid plates, Gobi roof rack & ladder, Inchworm transfer case & custom frame cross member, front UCA's, rear trailing arms, ARB air locker & onboard compressor, ham & cb radios, auxiliary fuse block, LED dome lights, can't even remember everything now but the truck is very heavy.
3) On-road driving is at least 80% highway since I live out in the country and don't commute.
4) Stock: 340 miles per tank. Now: 240 miles per tank

A little over 20 with a light foot...A little under 20 with a heavy foot.
Automatic
Bone stock except for a Uni-chip
Mostly rural and highway driving

Mods will start soon as the last payment was December .....WooHoo

I have never paid attention to fuel economy in any vehicle I ever owned.
To be honest the FJC was an impulse buy. After almost 4 years I'm just starting to like it.

I recently completed a 5400 mile trip and did keep a log. Maybe this info will be helpful if you plan on taking a long trip w/ a fully packed FJC.

6mt
ARB front, roof rack, RTT, OME, Bud skids, 285's.
I had at least 400 lbs on roof including the RTT. Probably another 300 or so inside the truck.
I averaged 14.5 MPG. This included everything. From the highway to the trail.

Used a mix of regular and super while driving across the U.S.A. Tank full would get me about 3-4 hours.
about 225 to 285 miles average. Got better mileage with super and NOT using cruise control.

20.5 MPG

'07 - 51,000 miles - 5AT - mostly stock - tires at 45PSI (still a great ride) soft foot and seldom over 70MPH. Going to remove the roof rack and see if MPG goes up. After that, a few mods and and I'll watch the MPG go down. :frown:

07 TRD with 77K on it............

5AT
Stock, except for TRD CAI and TRD CAT Back which came with the package.
Stock BFG Tires half worn.
Syn Lube in front and rear diff's and in Engine.
77K miles in 37 months.
35 mile commute daily (70 roundtrip)
Baltimore/Washington Metro Area; so there is considerable traffic to deal with even on the Interstates, I70,I95,I795,I495,I695, and I81,I83
18 to 21MPG depending how much idling that I do in traffic jams. Most tanks are 20 MPG and I usually go 280-290 miles before I fill up

I also have an 80 and a 62 series; and on the days that I drive them they get 15 and 11 MPG, respectively.
They are stock with syn lube in driveline as well.
I love all three, but they are truly very different rides.
Hope this helps................gm

Our '08 6MT did about 18ish in the highway stock. City was around 15.

Post ICON lift with 305/70/16 Cooper STTs on Pro Comp wheels it did 14ish around town and 16-17 on the highway. I also had a URD shifter and Doug Thorley Ypipe so I tended to drive the snot out of it. It just sounded good and was fun to drive.

Milage for 80 series and FJC

Had a 80 series and got 11 mpg. sold her and got a FJ. stock milage for the FJ will be around 20-21mpg hwy. After adding heavy mods and new rims and 33's....the milage went down to about 17-18mpg. My rig is a daily driver and im on the interstate for 70 miles a day. she is a lil gas hog....but I love her.:steer:
