What's this part from the door?

So I was planning on replacing the passenger door speaker because I thought it was blown due to serious vibration when the bass plays. So I open it up and the speaker was fine it was something else buzzing when the bass played. I pulled down the plastic and found the sound coming from up near the door lock and door handle. I couldn't find any loose parts and all the bolts were tight. I did find this part stuck between the lock motor and the lock housing. It wasn't attached to anything, just wedged between two housings. Its soft rubber almost 1.5" long.

So what does it go to? Could it have fallen off something that is now the source of the bass vibration?

Can you try to repost the photo? I just picked up an 06 LC and have same "issue" thinking blown speaker. I haven't gone nearly as far as you and pulled the door panel. I was just going to take it to someone (I'm not too inclined to tackle all the wiring) and upgrade all the speakers, but if it's possibly something else I may pull the panel.

Let me know if this works.

It's part of the door lock actuator assembly. I'd be surprised if it is at all related to the woofer rattling.

What function does it serve in the actuator assembly? Do you have any pictures of where it goes so I can reinstall it if it needs to be there. I have the service manual but it doesn't show this part in the lock assembly.

The woofer isn't rattling, something in the door handle or lock assembly is vibrating when the low notes are thumping (sounds like a blown speaker but its definitely coming from the lock or handle). I'm hoping that this part is supposed to be on whatever it is that's vibrating and that it won't vibrate once I get this part back where its supposed to be.

Here is a stock photo of one (with a blue dot on the part). It just plugs into the side of the assembly, and is easily dislodged. I really don't know what purpose it serves. I've left them out of a few actuator repairs I've done, with no new rattles resulting.

Awesome. Thanks for the pic. I know where it goes. When I get back in there I'll put it back on. Any ideas on what I could look for as another source of the vibration?

I've got about 3 layers of sound deadening on my doors and still have a rattle in that area. You just need to find music that makes that area rattle and start holding down and tightening things. It is a bit of an art not science. Sound deadening in select spots helps also. Everything has a resonating frequency and also the air pressure created by the speaker needs to escape somewhere.

Yea, I tried that but everything is tight. I noticed the plastic wrap wasn't tight and vibrated so I stretched it back tight and that helped a little.

I found the interior door metal had came apart in small area at the seams on my driver door caused rattling until I repaired.
