Hi all..i have an 85 fj60. I am trying to justify to my wife the need to put money into it. Its red mildly ok paint, no body damage, two tiny dings, absolutely not a spec of rust anywhere, even the zink parts on the doors look bran new, 147k miles. Needs new carpet otherwise interior ok. Needs clutch, valve cover seal and power stearing pump. Also needed (will be done next week) full tune up and front pads, and a/c pump. If you had money and needed a rig what would you be willing to pay for mine (its not for sale) make a hypothetical offer. Its for the good of all man kind and an fj60:steer:

Hey XVIII- Some will say it's worth whatever you can get for it, but I'd say it's probably worth $4000-$5000, after the clutch and other stuff are repaired. FJ60's must be getting more and more scarce, but maybe so are people who want them. Maybe. Hope you have good luck dealing with your "Household Six". :cheers:Ned

we needs pictures;).

kelly blue book, NADA, whatevere you local market dictates its worth, provided someone would actually give that amount. See what people are getting within a certain mile radius and base it on that. Show the Girlfriend the #s.

I'm with tbi on this one:
Use craigslist, autotrader, and collectercartrader to get real world prices.
The low mileage on that rig and lack of rust makes it pretty desireable to most cruiserheads.
Most 60's I see for sale hover around the 200k plus in miles.
In todays market its not worth selling a 60 like that in my opinion cause it would'nt bring the $ she's worth.
Just paying for the repairs it needs offsets any car payments you may otherwise be making.
Plus 60's are just plain killer anyway....I can't think of any rigs being made today that have that 60 feel

Pics would be good

just my .02

Well, you need some of the more expensive repairs. Clutch, A/C, ps pump....It's a good buy at 2500 as is. It's a better buy at 3500 with the work done, imo. Clutch is five bills, no getting around that. All repairs done, no rust, and average paint, maybe 4000-4500, more in the northeast.

good call on the 18th nodaksn...i love those c130's. The cluth actually does not need replacing, its the throw out bearing...i can do all the work my self I used to be a mechanic. When i get back from HI, i will desmogg it (they run cleaner) add a header, full tune up, and a/c.
