Just bought an ARB winch bar for my 2000 UZJ-100, but the written instructions and bar that arrived are for an HJ-100 Ind front susp (ifs). Wanted to know if these are the samething for purposes of the arb bar? install pictures looks like the vehicle and frame, but i don't know.

HJ100 would be a 100 with the older V6 engine but with the IFS. In other parts of the world the V8 is an option not standard equipment.

For installing a bull bar it should make no difference.

Peq'

The "H" is for the inline 6, diesel engine............otherwise the crusiers are the same for mounting the ARB Bull Bar

There is no such model as a "HJ100". I would imagine the instructions referred to (or meant to) a HDJ100.

The HDJ100 is an IFS 100 series powered by the 1HD-FTE 4.2 litre intercooled turbo diesel engine.

and no REAL cruiser came with a V6... maybe prado, LC 2's... but not a cruiser

Oops - offended the crusier hardcore with the V6 slip. If an HDJ100 is a 6-Cylinder Diesel equipped crusier, Is the 100 with a Inline 6 a FZJ100?

The 1FZ-FE is nolonger availible(still availible in the FZJ78 and FZJ79), I know for certain that the 1FZ-FE was availible in the 105(FZJ105), But the 1FZ-FE in a 100  maybe. - Could of been in the GXL.

Wasn't it the 1FZ that came in the older 100's? In that case, it would be a FZJ100 (like with the FZJ105). My guess is it's a typo, probably HDJ100 for the turbo diesel. Only other 100 diesel engine I can think of is the 1HZ, which would be a HZJXXX. Oh, the PZJ turbo diesel is another Toyota diesel engine w/o the H designation, found in the 90 series prados w/ live front axle & all leaf springs...saw one in a 4 sale add in the LC mag in japan, fully equipped w/ ARB plus factory diff locks, OME lift, safari snorkel, maybe 60K miles, for around $3500.

I went on a "safari" tour when I was in Dubai, UAE and it was in a 100 with the inline-6 (gas) with IFS. I don't know what the designation would be but I remember thinking this is wierd  It was also a 5spd. I wish we could get this in the states!!!!

Sure it wasn't a FZJ105 w/ live front axle? There's an importer in Tokyo that reverse imports Toyotas not sold in Japan. They list N. American models (taco, tunda, sequoia, 4runner), plus 3rd world models, including a 100 series w/ V8 and 5spd manual, 105 series w/ 1HZ or 1FZ w/ optional front/rear diff locks, 78 series troopie w/ 1HZ, 1FZ, or 1HD-FTE w/ optional diff locks in left or right-hand drive. Prices weren't bad...5.1 million yen for the V8 100 w/ manual, 4.1 million for the 78 series, around 4.5 million yen for the 105 (barn door model only, no rear hatchback model available). If I ever get around to it, I'll try to scan the ad.
