I have been working on a 85 FJ60 cruiser. Put in 96 e-locked axles and suspension. Chevy 5.7 TBI, 700R4, 35's, leather seats, built my own bumpers. going to get it painted soon, then rock sliders! almost done! here is the link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/brown-fj60-fzj80-chevy-5-7-the-flying-terd-project.785706/

And a pic of the bumper I just finished. I have a tube bender JD2 if anyone is looking to do some bending.

Tony! That bumper is just too cool. Hopefully you can make it out to a run or meeting soon. I'd love to see your newest rig in person.

Here's another pic from Tony's thread. Love it:

So I have been trying to decide what gear oil to use and I am not familiar with it at all so I decided to ask what you guys use? A friend of mine uses mystic in his race car and said that the only gear oil he will use after trying all the other brands (he has been racing for over 20 years). Anyone run this before?

Thanks guys! Yeah I hope I can make it out soon too. I am itching to get this thing done and on the trail!!!

That 60 is gorgeous! Amazing work on that bumper!

I think I got the death wobble worked out. Picked up new TREs and had them installed, as well as an alignment and tires rebalanced. Feels solid. Hoping to get out on the trail soon!

Does anyone know if Wheeler Lake is still in the cards for 19July?

Wow! Very cool

Had discount exhaust replace my exhaust on the 40. No more rotten fumes in the cab. The fellows at Discount did a nice job for a fair price.
Planning on taking the tub out to C&D sandblasting on Saturday.

Did you get an aftermarket muffler? Getting my exhaust redone is on my list of things hopefully within 6 months. I haven't started researching yet but always nice to see what others have done

As good a place as any to post this. I have been updating the web page since the forum upgrade. If anyone finds broken links please send me a note, thanks.

Leon, I noticed that our website no longer has thread feeds from the MUD (nor does the "Forum" link work). I'm assuming that they have the old link info, since everything slightly changed with the new software.

No rush, but it'd be nice to have the CLC website linked with the MUD. I've been handing out A LOT of business cards lately.

Thanks!

RELATED SIDE NOTE: We should think about putting our MUD address on the next set of business cards. No?

I thought that was going to happen to me when I put the first lift on the fj. I then decided to bring it to tire world to have them use there hydraulic spring compressor. Charged me 50$. Those work great for stock springs but not the old man emu stuff that's for sure.

The forum link does work from the pages I have tried. From which page are you having trouble?

The latest feed updates does not work since the forum software was updated and I haven't dug into it too deeply.

Yikes...

Are those the HF models?

I'm not sure. I have had those for probably going on 10+ years now. Spring compressors are dangerous, though. I had the spring in position under the perch when it broke. The little fingers went flying (I havn't found the second one). If I would have been careless enough to have my fingers or hand between the spring and the perch, I am confident it would have been a broken bones kind of thing.

I know what Andrew will be working on in the near future! lol

Yes, I bent my FM antenna again. I keep trimming the broken part off and sticking it back in the hole. Soon, It's gonna get too short to pick anything up!

Oh, and I had a minor encounter with a small rock, too.

Oh man. Looks like someone's gonna be fabbing up some sliders... after doing a bit of bodywork.

I seem to remember someone saying they want to keep their whelelin' rig lookin' pretty. :grinpimp:
