The forum link does work from the pages I have tried. From which page are you having trouble?

The latest feed updates does not work since the forum software was updated and I haven't dug into it too deeply.

The front page doesn't have the updating feeds (which you mentioned as well) and the "Forum" button on the bottom doesn't work. So, there is no way to get to the MUD from our front page (at least not an obvious one) and I think that since so much goes on here on the MUD, it would be good to have a quick, obvious link to our CLC page here.

The "Meeting" page also has us still meeting at LHMiller.

Thanks again for working on the webpage Leon. MUCH APPRECIATED!

Okay thanks, that helps and I will get it fixed up. Just a heads up, the forum link at the top of that page does work.

By the way, where were you last night????

Dang! No excuse this time...just plain old forgot (had a LONG day).

Shoot, I had a couple questions about my new antenna for you. Guess it'll have to wait until next time.

Hope you weren't alone.

Got the links fixed/updated.

Yes, alone except for a guy name Mike wanting to learn more about Cruisers so I invited him to the meeting this month. He sounded interested.

To paraphrase Mr. Stacey David's segment on Gearz, "What are you working on?"

During meetings or trail runs, I hear a ton of stories about the neat stuff you guys are doing. Not everyone is into starting build threads, so I thought this might be a fun way to get the word out on what some of you are doing (with out having to go into a ton of detail or take a million pics).

Hopefully, it will be fun for you guys and inspiring to those of us wanting / needing to get out to the garage more. Doesn't have to be Toyota related (;)), shoot... doesn't even have to be 4wd related.

Working on a cool/fun project... post something up!

Just got the front seat upholstery done, New foam and marine grade vinly

Finished the new winch plate and got everything installed this morning. Actually wasn't too bad, and I should have gone this way from the get go.

Those of you that went on the Chinaman run may remember me smashing up the roller fairlead and winch plate. I also managed to put some hurt on it on Kane Creek in Moab. Here's what she looked like after I took it off....

I wanted to get the new mount above the frame rails, as well as tuck it back as far as I could. And most of all, I wanted to get rid of that stupid roller fairlead. The one thing that prevented it from going above the frame rail was the trans cooler. So I picked up a different cooler that I could mount higher. It is rater for a higher GVWR than I need, so I hope it does the job that's intended.

Also needed to make room for the box and to be able to plug in the controller (even though I have in-cab controls). So I had to modify the grill a bit. Not too difficult and I think it turned out pretty well.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. I've gained about 3" of height over the previous set up, and it protrudes about 2" less (most of the is due to the hawse fairlead). I also highly recommend the winch plate from Barnes 4WD. It's a dual pull plate, which is more suited for buggies so they compress the front suspension. But it looks great, and it doesn't have any holes in it other than to mount the winch. I found it a lot easier to drill the holes and not have to compete with the pre-drilled holes on the HF winch plate. Well worth the extra $$, and it looks much better too.

Cool looking winch plate. I also like how far you got that winch tucked in. Very nice.

Looks like a really nice setup. Great improvement in approach angle.

I asked about running a hawse fairlead with wire rope at 4wheel parts, and the guys there looked at me like I was crazy. Is your fairlead steel?

How many tubs of bondo did you use? :grinpimp:

There is not that much body filler on there. I have a gallon of rage-gold from another project a while back, so that's what I'm using. I think that I have used about a quart on the door and rocker panel (but sanded a lot of it off). Except for probably a few pin-holes, I am done with body filler. I did pull the dent as close to flush as I could get it in both places. The rocker panel is a very strong area because of all the bends around the door opening. I didn't have much luck with the slide hammer at first, so I ended up cutting out a large section, bending the surrounding area back, and then cutting/bending up a sheet metal patch and welding it onto the hole. At the worst spots, the body filler is about 1/4" thick.

I ordered 2 cans of paint, primer, and clear coat from these guys:

Hopefully, the Frank will be back to normal by next weekend.

Yup. It's steel. It's a Warn unit I picked up off of Amazon. No issues with using a hawse with wire rope, as long as it's steel. Steel wire will chew through the aluminum ones. But those are made for synthetic ropes really anyways.
