I'm shopping for a new truck and can't find a source that will
give me the options for each year. And is the Active Traction Control as good as a rear locker for a trail rig (I'm not building a rock crawler or anything...) Thanks!

98-99 rear locker optional. 2000+ traction controll. Locker is prolly better for trail. TC prolly better for a daily driver. FWIW I bought a 2000........traction controll is fine for my needs.

2000+ also got an upgraded(stronger) front diff.

Thanks. Alot stronger front diff on the 2000+ or just a little. I figure if I'm spending 30k on a truck I can just get a 99 or 01 and add the locker on the 00 or 01. Thanks again. Doss

trying to keep things in perspective, I would think that a 2000+ with Trac Con will do 99% of what the regular population would ever want it do to, and perhaps 90% of what the population on this forum might want to do... I was told here that it will not do as well as lockers on Moab type stuff, but then how often do you want to do Moab type stuff with 30K worth of truck?
