i found an 05 of 84 bj60, missing front axle, alternator/vacuum pump, and a few other things. it can't be registered ever again but it has a five speed with split t-case...i was wondering what it would cost to put into a 72 fj40, and if feasable, would i need/want to keep the tcase? i would try to do the work myself, i'm mainly wondering about things like driveshafts, adapters, etc. thanks

I bought my running not too high milage for 10k Canadian. maybe paid too much, oh well its done. but I have seen cheaper ones, but high mileage. so if you have to rebuild the t-case and tranny or what not. the vehicle cannot be worth much. possibly 3 k canadian. or 2500. if the engine's really good then worth it for sure. a 3b must be worth 3k or more. thats my thinking anyhow.

i'm more concerned with what it wil cost to get it inot the 40

it **should** be fairly straight conversion things to consider...

Drive shaft flanges are probably diffrent(easily swap the "newer" d-shafts onto the older shafts as the splines are the same)
Drive shaft length(couple hunderd $$
(you need/have to keep the later split case with the 5spd tranny)
E-brake(rear disk brakes)
cross member to support everything
rebuild kits if the tranny/tcase are worn out

what engine would you be putting this on? I know that diesel vs gas had diffrent tranny input spline counts/lenghts?(yes/no somebody confirm please)

this should probably be in normal cruzer tech or international

i would be putting it in with the engine in the bj60, 3b? i think, i'm not sure, four cylinder diesel. i already have rear disk, but no ebrak on them, different calipers or something? and can a crossmemeber be easily made? or an expensive type deal?
