What to look for when buying?

Hello everyone, I am new to the group and have some specific questions about what to look for when buying a 1990 - 1997 Land Cruiser.

How many miles is too many miles to purchase one with? This will be my daily driver & my toy.

Is there anything I should look for that would help my purchase?

I'm checkin out cruisers as you are. If you check out the ih8mud.com 80s tech section there is a very good newbie buyers guide under slee offroad in the FAQs. Should tell you what to look for.

What your looking for is gonna be up to what your wanting to do with it. Basically get as low mileage as you can, I'm looking at 2 that are great prices, I will direct you to the one I dont buy Its in the $4k range and sounds great but unlocked.

Basically, engines changed from 3fe to 1fz....didnt make a difference to me cept there are turbos you might find for the 1fz.

Lockers. which were optional not standard.

And mileage....Get whatever you can but keep in mind that these engines go to 300k miles before a rebuild. All depending on previous maintenance.
