so one of my mothers church friends needs a house sitter and a animal sitter 2 dogs and 2 cats .. this person wants me to stay in there house tend to the dogs and the house .. they do have a weekly or something house keeper .. I will be caring for 4 animals the house yard and gardens .. the gardens will need watered twice a day and we all know what a pita walking 2 dogs can be ...

now what do i charge for this service ???

it has also given me the idea to do this on a larger scale .. put a add in the paper and a few fliers out there .. i live in a snow bird community and these people leave for months at the time .. also vacationing family's need this also .. what to do with fluffy the rabid pit bull while i am away .. and i don't want to trouble the neighbors again, anymore , and or they hate their neighbors..

any thoughts on this ??

$5 a dog a day + $5 a day for the house.

PLUS food for you to saty there

EASY MONEY

plus, you can raid their liquir cabinet

Uh, if you guys can get pet care and homesitting service for this rate, I'm moving to wherever you are. It's AT LEAST twice that here in the ATL. The last time we used a service (and they only came for 30 minutes twice a day), it was $44/day...this was about three years ago. I think my liquor remained untouched. ;)

I just got back from vacation and the neighborhood dog walker/cat sitter took care of my two cats, brought in the mail and generally kept an eye on the house. She charges $2 a day. Want to know where I live? You'd have to be within walking distance.

2 bucks a day .. well the would be o.k. but i am walking 2 dogs twicw or more a day ... plus two cats and stay at there house ... 60 bucks for a month wow that is not worth me doing it .. now if i was just tossing food to a cat and checking mail .. it would still be 5 bcks a day hell it would cost 3 in gas just to do that..it must be a kid or a retire

Neighbor's kid comes by and feeds my dogs and my kid's fish when we're out of town. We do the same for them. We pick them up from school if they need it, etc. Free. That what neighbors do, I thought.

true but some people do not have good friendly neighbors ... and if you are gone for month or two well do you really want to take care of the neighbors place for a long period of time ???

x2

Also if you live with parents or roomates, having a house to yourself is a nice payment in itself. I did it a few times when I was younger (living w/ folks) and it was like going on vacation.

true.

Not everyone lives in BFE. If I still lived in a larger city, I'm sure it would be a problem. Actually, leaving town is more of a hassle with dogs than kids.

I have used a local service to come in and feed my cats, clean the litter box, water plants, bring in mail. I think they charged $15 per visit. They were cats only. I guess they didn't want to deal with walking dogs.
