Ha, but I’ll never sell the Z28 which is without a doubt fuc*ing cool as sh*t. I don’t care what anyone thinks :). I grew up with a step dad that drove a corvette (77) and his comment to me about the Z’s and TA’s was they were a “poor man’s Corvette”. He may have been right back then but put todays value of a nice gen2 TA up agains the $ I got for that original 32k mile 4-speed vette and it’s surprising how much more the “poor man’s vette” values are today vs they vette I sold.

Been slowly working on this LS/62 that a friend in Austin bought from another MUD friend in Hico TX. It’s been slow going but I reduced the 1.5” body lift and in order to keep the 35’s the owner went with a Man A Fre shackle reversal. Has been fun to do but as usual one mod requires several unforeseen mods. Dropping the body has caused interference with the upper radiator hose and the fan shroud. Moved the fan shroud but not a ton of clearance so with the upper radiator hose crossing over the top of the shroud it hits the underside of the hood and then pushes the shroud down into the fan. Plan A (cheapest) is to rerout the hose the best we can. Plan B is to take the radiator in to get the inlet and the fill neck flipped. Truck sits great but we have not been able to take it for a real test drive until we can close the hood.
Also added a Trail Tailor rear bumper (very nice/clean look) As well as an ARB front

Nice work going on over there Jimmy! Keep it up. We will have to catch up over a beer at SAS, just a few more weeks.

Yeah buddy, looking good.

I don’t have any input about the radiator but I’ll offer my opinion on that front bumper…
It looks like it wants to come down a hole to even the headlights up top to bottom. The bumper I got from Ben was like the one here and it finally bugged me enough to do something about it. While, yes, it looked better, it also blocked more light than I realized on the bottom.

Just a thought. Hope to see you up north.
Heading for the land tomorrow.

@CenTXFJ60 Glad you got stuff sorted out on the shackle reversal. They can be a pain …

Great call Ian. I’ll pass that along to the owner. He picked this height but without driving it yet things like this are unknown to both of us

Which front springs did you end up putting on it? Looks like they are the 70 series length; the height looks great!

Cant tell in the pictures, but one thing I would change about the shackle reversal kit is the front spring pin nuts. If they aren't already, a nylock or a distorted thread lock nut, its a good upgrade. I had mine start to come loose after a few hundred miles of dirt roads last October.

@CenTXFJ60 and I talked for a bit when he was working on that truck and HZJ75 spring packs with a couple leaves pulled is the ticket for the front of an SR setup. So are nylock nuts!

So any LS gurus…will this work if replace the passenger side with a flex hose like this other mud member has done? My worry is the slight restriction on the 90 degree bend on the inlet side (drivers side). The hose has to run in that channel between the tank and the shroud. Only other option is to have a radiator shop switch the filler and inlet. The owner has a lot of $ into all the other work done and I’m trying to give him a financial reprieve

Above is where I’m at. Below is what another mud member did with his LS conversion

Here is a pic of mine. Similar scenario. We are running different water pumps. Might help you if you swap to the later water pump. I would try and ditch that steam port thing.
