Good afternoon gentlemen. Let me explain the scenario. I installed my 33' tires first with no issues on stock suspension. Two weeks later install my lift kit from slee, diff drop, and replaced both front axles.

Now, I'm experiencing some rough acceleration between 50 to 65mph when I give is some gas about 20% throttle. The rough acceleration occurs only slight open throttle and picks up smoothly when I give it more gas or at WOT. It's the same feeling you get when you'd be at low speeds but have it in a higher gear on a vehicle with manual transmission.

Anyone ever experience this issue? If so, what have you done to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by rough? A power issue...a ride issue?

Did you install the axles? The front can be very sensitive when it comes to tolerances. Did you accurately guage and use the correct sized snap rings on the axle ends after mounting the hubs? That fitting should be snug and if it has play, I could see it contributing to the issue you described.

Lube the rear driveshaft? Lift changed the pinion angle so check the driveline for good u-joints and lube it up if you didn't during the lift. Just a guess given the info provided..

I'm a little confused, you're making it sound like an engine performance issue, but the work you've done lately would point more toward a driveline/axle issue. Can you confirm if it's actually the motor that is acting sluggishly, or if the feeling is originating in the front suspension/axles?

It does appear that it has some play/vibration in the front only. Note that it's not vibration from tires. I may get flamed for this because I used aftermarket axles brand new from eBay.

I'll have to double check with my installer if could be a snap ring issue or what not.

Thanks again for chiming in fellas.

Please do not use the word "flamed" on this forum. We are not discussing World of Warcraft or who has the most efficient CPU water cooler. Only one person is allowed to use this word and I don't see red center caps (in your build thread).

Re: your issue, if you did your homework, you would have read about other people's nightmarish experiences with non-OEM axles. I don't think we're all Toyota parts snobs, but we all pretty much agree that this is one part where you are better off paying through the nose in order to get a far superior part.

I am willing to bet that your issue is due to the play between the hub/axle. Did you do this job yourself or have a shop do it? I'd like to hear about the snap right fitment during the re-install.

We had a customer drive to us from CA due to the same vibration that could not be solved. We checked everything, replaced some worn out parts, but could not get rid of it. Finally suggested he ask his shop in CA to replace the axles with OE axles when he gets back. That was the only anomaly we found on the truck. Sure enough, that was it. The axles were replaced a month before he got to us with "like OE spec" axles.

I vote axles too. Same problem after I installed aftermarket axles. Solved the problem by installing OEM.
