I bought somebodys project that they gave up on. I'm parting all the non FJ stuff from the FJ 40. It has a D44 with Disk brakes up front out of an 1-ton. It's crazy wide. In the back it has this rear end. I scaped off the places that I thought shold have the number but I cannot find anything.

It has drum brakes and an 8 lug bolt pattern. From brake backing plate to brake backing plate it is 54". It has the original spring perches on top. Once I get it identified I will be selling it.

probably the toughest 1 ton rated rear axle ever built. bar none!

ask me how i know......

Quite probably has a Detroit....
More likely a gov lock if it has any sort of locker.

They typically run from Free to $150 around here.

I paid $50 for hte one in my 40 and have one sitting on the ground next to it that was free.

Good, strong axle that there are about 1billion made..
