anybody knows what model this is?
looks quite old.
A must have for any reason?
What would be the market value in decent condition?

added: well, Seller tells me it's a 015L. He has no idea if it's running or not. He said something about finding it in or near a dump so that may not be a good sign.
Anyway, I was just curious if it's something I should jump on because "it's the best ever made, indestructible, and very easy to fix" or something like that... I don't need it, I have 4, but eh, one more can't hurt if the deal is great or the saw very interesting... :)

It is a STIHL 015 Chain Saw. Prodcution started in the early 1970's and production was discontinued in the early 1980's. The 1120 series (009, 010, 011 and 012) replaced it.

The one in the picture is one of the later ones produced.

Is that roll bar foam?

I've got to get a smaller limbing unit, this overhead trimming with a 13 pound powerhead is trashing my left elbow..

I've got the extendable 110, works great (nice not to have to dig out the ladder), but that sucka can get heavy also.:D

I got 2 chainsaws this past summer from my neighbor. One is a "newer" Poulan 14" with automatic bar oiler. The other is an old Homelite 16" with manual bar oiler. Neither ran when I got them. The Homelite gas and oil caps were missing and both tanks had over a cup of sand between them. His kids left them down by the river and they got flooded out(kids, a necessary evil).

Anyway, I put a few hours into each one, ordered some parts off the Internet, and got them both running. They both run well and I have used them to help another neighbor clean out some fallen trees behind his house. I'm going to pick up a bar for the Homelite that has the sprocket on the end and a new chain. The one that was on it was old and rusty but I didn't want to put too much into them until I found out what shape they were in. They both run well and the price was right. I spent about $30 on each one for parts so that's not too bad.

I didn't buy it.
I still have 3, after selling 2 recently and then buying yet another one... sheesh.... the downsizing isn't making much headway... But at least I've gotten a bit smarter and now buy them used instead of new...
