What is this ground cable, and can I extend it? (1 Viewer)

I’d like to use the dead space behind the air filter box to put my winch control box.

This ground cable is in the way. It like to extend the cable so that it can be ground in the same space, but tucked out of the way.

Can I use any wire of the same gauge to extend it a bit?

I extended mine 2 years ago with some 10 ga wire and heat shrink butt splice connectors. No issues thus far.
