What is this for?

i am assuming this is antenna. I am unsure whether it's for sat or regular am/fm. Do any of you guys know? Also anyone know how to boost sat signal? Since I've thrown on my roof rack, my signal doesn't seem to be as strong.

Pretty sure that Sat radio. I have one as well for with an old XM receiver.
