Im awaiting for the arrival of the three Slee skid plates. The total weight of the three skid plates is 178 pounds.
I removed the OEM front and intermediate skid. The weight for the front skid is 16 pounds The weight for the composite skid is 5 pounds
A total of 21 pounds for both pieces! Even when subtracting 21 pounds from 178, it is still a bit of a weight savings. If one went aluminum the additional weight of the front and intermediate would be marginal.
I figured the net weight of the front skid is 32 pounds and the intermediate skid is 30 pounds if one where to go with steel.
This is in comparison to the published weights on Slee's site-- 48 pound front skid and 35 pound intermediate skid
I'm curious to see if anyone has weighed the transmission cross member and if so what is the weight.
