My voltage is always keep on 13v or below 13 when it is idle. It is at 13.5 when it is running with air con. Is it normal? The battery is new! Thanks.

My '03 LC is at 13.5V at idle and 14V - 14.3V when driving. Test your alternator.

Your alternator is not charging. Since you have a new battery, it pretty much rules out a dead cell in the battery. Just like RND1 said, start looking at your alternator.

Thanks. It can reach to 13.7v when driving fast in highway. Anyway i know the normal voltage can be reached to 13.8-14.3v.

How do you think how to test the alternator before go to garage?

I had the same problem a few years ago... ALT. would test good... but under load nite driving with A/C and dvd ect... battery would go dead... daytime driving all was good.... chased it for awhile swapped out batteries ect... finally swaped the ALT. took it to a trusted re-builder... who gave me an Alternator lesson seems Alternators are 3 phase and will operate fine with light loads when 1 phase is out (for whatever reason).
at the time this happened I'm not sure if i posted here or somewhere else on how to replace the alternator through the right wheel well... took about an hour which is far less than the time it takes to do it by the book... from memory seems i removed the 3 bolts from the power steering pump and pulled it out of the way... I had to make use of extensions and fit my hand in tight places but it wasn't too bad...
