so im putting new belts on. and the belt from the AC is the first one and that idler that it goes to has an adjustment bolt on the top. how the hell do you loosen that without taking everything off???? ive tried wrenches and gear wrenches and sockets. somebody please help.
I do not know if its the same as a 60 I would guess that it is. Do you have a pic, or I can take a picture
you loosen the bottom bolt, on both sides (front and back) then adjust the tensioner bolt loosenough to get the belt off. install new belt, tighten with tensioner bolt to spec i make it tight but not too tight, if you push down and or pull up at the widest part of its span between the pulleys you should not be able to move it more thatn say 1/4 to 1/2 inch
then tighten back up the bottom bolts.
i have the belt off, well rather it blew off on the highway. but the adjusting bolt for the idler pully i can not get to in anyway. i did a search and some say they remover thier battery, that looks like it does nothing. the way i see it happening is taking the power steering pulley off to remove the long bolt to the bracket. but i cant get the pulley off.
do you have a picture, something is not making sense to me. I am not sure if the 62 is different than my 60 but to get the ac belt on or off I did nothing with any of the other pulleys or the idler that is right below the ac just did the steps above.
