Hello all I am in the process of going through my 2000 LC with a fine tooth comb and wondered if anyone has thoughts on what the rubber hose(3) that run from the oil filter to a metal line then splits and goes to the top of the intake next to pcv hose and the other end goes into the thermostat housing. Has anybody replaced these or had a failure? My rig has 155k.

Oil cooler line. Replacing mine and received them today along with new clamps. Three rubber hoses. Thought I would do it while changing the time belt and water pump. Interestingly mine has 155,550 miles. The old ones look ok but 17 years is a long time.

Clarification
  • First image where hose splits and enters thermostat area
  • Second image where hose enters intake on top near pcv hose
  • Third image hose by oil filter

Yeah that's the cooler line. Pull that, and you'll have coolant spill out. Had to pull it during the timing belt job.

Just clarifying. All 3 carry coolant? Replacing all small coolant lines that could fail (blew a small hose a long way from home once) .Currently have all heater T and lines on back of engine and 4 under truck going to rear heater. Doing a flush soon. Anything else needed I am missing?

Where is this line "on the back of engine"? Are these the ones that connected with heater T's? Also if I do not have rear AC, do I have those "4 under truck going to rear heater"?

Thanks for the picture. I am going to flush the coolant too, and been thinking going to replace all rubber lines.

Rear AC and rear heater are two separate systems. You can have one or both. Rear heater is under the driver's seat (Lhd), a switch on center dash and controls in front of the center back seat.

  • First pic heater T hose passenger side
  • Second pic heater T hose driver side
  • Third pic 2 rubber hoses going to rear. One travels under converter heat shield
  • Forth pic 2 hoses going to rear heater
