What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

This rubber hose/clamp/fuel filter location/situation makes me nervous.

Crazy looking air filter set up too...
Nice rig, where in Tejas are you?

San Antonio. The air filter and fuel line/filter are temporary. It previously had a weber carb so things aren't super OEM like I'd prefer. Couldn't find a factory air cleaner for a 77 so I bought a FJ60 one and the newer valve cover.

Hope to see you around one of these days.
Have you tried Cruiser Yard @arcteryx ? Jason rules and is somewhat local.
Or Classic Cruisers may have an air cleaner as well.

Bought some steelies from classic cruisers when I was in town for a trailer I'm building from a 1979 Toyota truck short bed. Had the wheels powder coated the same color as the roll bar . Got home and realized the wheels I had coated years ago are the wrong color gray 🩶 😭, they look almost white next to the new color. Guess I'll have to have the old lighter ones redone or it's going to eat me alive! 🤬

Put the two darker ones on one side and the two lighter ones on the other…

It's called ocd!

I would love to find a local guy to build the cage for my FJ40 to put a bikini top! The other issue would be where do I store that top.

I’d highly recommend Metal-tech cages. Personally I’d assemble it just the way I’d want, tack it, and then have a skilled certified welder finish the welding.

A few months ago I helped out this local couple with picking out a 40, we went to look at this very original 67 and I actually thought it would be good to dissuade them from a pre-75 model, however it had the opposite effect and they completely fell in love with the old school charm and originality and it is perfect for their uses (it’s really the Mrs’s). She has been driving it almost every day and looking for reasons to drive it.

Well there were a few things to correct on it, namely the wiper motors were some generic things with the switches on them. I tracked down some TNK’s from my friend and legend @pardion . Today I went over and we had some zen time getting them installed, reconnecting the original wiper switch and getting everything working.

It was nice to just have fun tinkering on a project with my new friends and no pressure.

Next project is installing the original oil filter housing we got from Mark @65swb45

Yes we are going to do the Wix filter as per @red66toy thread. I unfortunately did not stock up on Toyota filters like I should have when they were only $6.

Beautiful original paint 40!

Beautiful original paint 40!
It really is. It has ZERO rust.
The best part is how much the owner’s love it, it really found the right home with them.
