Here is our intrepid Sherman after accidentally taking the FJ60 OUT of 4wd rather than putting it into 4wd.... Rock sliders and winches are worth their weight in gold...that 1 time you might need them.
I wanted to put it side by side with the picture of the Grey stuck.
But a good point to take away is alway inspect your gear and people in the Francis Marion intentionally damage drainage on road to cause this holes to mud bog in. The forest service had this fixed but it was missed up again sometime between now and febuary. The truck was stopped because I ran over a bunch of old tires in the water. I got out in 5 mins, My Warn 10k winch had no issues pulling me out. I walked into the water prior to crossing a little ways but not all the way to the otherside, this was the result. Fun time though.
I also contacted the forest serice about this issue to find out if they need some help fixing this or to see if they will just block this road off to keep people from tearing it up after it rains ie like they do with the cycle trail. So far I have gotten emails back not my job, talk with this guy, leave a message for this person.
This is how roads get perminiately closed out there and not open to vehicles.
Also mark this on the calendar.
