The instruction manual says to drill and tap the manifold with a cold engine idling. It felt pretty cowboy, just hoping that I wouldn't shred my turbo, and wasnt perfectly straight because of getting the drill into the tight space. But the exhaust gas blows all the swarth out as soon as you break through; nearly got some in my eye. Thanks oil patch safety culture for the safety glasses.
The display is mounted just in front of my shifter. I have a strip of Velcro around my old mechanical gauge mount and a strip on the back of the ems1. That I can can disconnect it and bring the computer inside (storage temp is -20°c, so I figure in the deep winter).
