Hey now...And supercharger is underwhelming at best…
I have no doubt, but the EPA sticker will be the only thing that matters in CO before too long.Oh I know…
And supercharger is underwhelming at best… You really should make the field trip up and drive a turbo truck![]()
what did you use to clean it? Looks new!Finished the Transfer case rebuild with the 3.15:1 low range gears and 10% under drive gears. About as difficult as I thought it would be but took me longer than it should have because I kept second guessing myself and went back to the videos to make sure I was right.

Get out while you can hahaI have no doubt, but the EPA sticker will be the only thing that matters in CO before too long.
I was probably overly meticulous about cleaning these. I have a 30 liter ultra sonic cleaner, parts washer, 100 Quart boiler (home-made hot tank), and then used a Dremel, wire brush on drill, and elbow grease.what did you use to clean it? Looks new!
Yeah, I figured. There's no magic bullet for stuff like that, I don't think - just elbow grease and tons of work. I've watched videos of people cleaning undercarriages and drivetrains with dry ice machines, but those things are commercial grade and stupid expensive. Would be cool to get local access to something like that, but I don't know who does it around my neck of the woods.I was probably overly meticulous about cleaning these. If it's not squeezing out, how can you possibly know it's sealing? Fine job, AFAIC.Thanks. This was my first time using the FIPG and I clearly used too much, but otherwise very happy with how it turned out.
Worst sounding horns ever (I have them, too). Finally got around to adding some 200 AMP MRBF fuses on both the driver and passenger (+) post. I got the idea from @Delta VS

Yes it does look really close to the top of the battery box and in fact it is, but I have confirmed it is not hitting but for my own piece of mind I am thinking about swapping over to Group 31 batteries with an automotive post vice the marine style post or something else I might do it add a common buss bar. But swapping to the automotive style post will probably be easier. It will allow me to lay the MRBF fuse flat giving me more piece of mind.
I added another ground and you can see it running to the back of the firewall but it is more than likely going to get moved to the cylinder head or the engine block. Just need to decide the best route to both.

Also, I keep the wire in check I used a "P Clamp using one of the mounting bolts from the cruise control bracket. It is visible in the above picture but here is a closer picture.

And last I installed my Hella horns that I got for Christmas. They do not work yet, as I need to chase down some issues with the horn. The stock ones didn't work either, so I am assuming the brass contact in the steering wheel or a fuse/relay.

Good to know! I learned after I posted this, that I am putting enough FIPG on when I had to remove the oil pans I had just put back on a few weeks ago.If it's not squeezing out, how can you possibly know it's sealing? Fine job, AFAIC.
Well hopefully they do not sound like a Corolla like the old ones did. Honestly I should have gone with the factory replacements that are like 400 500 mhz.Worst sounding horns ever (I have them, too).
The ones I was referring to look like those but are OEM Toyota and from I read are straight drop in.I have these out in the garage awaiting installation.
The previous owner of my rig had installed Hellas. I hated how they sound. High pitched and tinny, like I was driving a Prius. And I love using my horn. Every day. All the time. LOLWorst sounding horns ever (I have them, too).
Link doesn't seem to work. The previous owner of my rig had installed Hellas. I hated how they sound. High pitched and tinny, like I was driving a Prius. And I love using my horn. Every day. All the time. LOL
My first mod after I bought my 80 was to rip them out. I swapped them with these horns from Amazon and they have a tone that tells others I'm in a truck and not a go-cart. I'm happy with them.
Where did your order your Mass-Backed carpet?Finished replacing the replaced carpet. As part of the rebuild I was trying to get cruiser as quiet as possible and bought mass backed carpet. Big Mistake, Huge. Do not, under and circumstance, buy mass backed carpet unless you enjoy the odor of driving behind a tar truck. 4 years of airing it out did nothing to change it.
Replaced with factory front and standard aftermarket rear. THE SMELL IS GONE! Do yourself a favor, just buy the factory carpet if you are upgrading. Sooo much easier to install and no having to think it though. The rear is NLA.![]()
Then I introduced her to her new plaything. I know she will be jealous because I will be splitting my time between them. Kind of like a second child.
