I've searched for hours... can anyone tell me where I can get just the grommet. The pump still works, do I have to buy a whole pump just to get a grommet?

Anyone Know
Buy one of those made in China on Amazon for about $8.00 and use the grommet supplied.

Typical cracked tank on top.

You also need to change out you charcoal canister (VC120) retrofit. (OEM is NLA)

You can get a used tank or buy a new one. New one is in the $300 range if I recall.
cost me nearly $700 for a new Toyota tank earlier this year.

Yes. For my 1996 90068-32002
Yep that’s the right part number.

I have been neglecting my 80 series since picking up a 200 series 2 months ago. The 80 got some overdue love. After ordering a 39” LED bar and realizing it was too small for my bowfin rack opening I then ordered a 43” and had to do some minor trimming to the fairing. The 39” LED bar was mounted on the rear of the rack. I finally took care of that, washed the car and put the free car cover that came with my 200 to use on the 80!

Did the Section 1 and 2 of the WABDR with a friend and his 4Runner. The 80 did good for the most part but I do need to finish the refresh on my coolant system. At one point temp went up to 228F and for the first time I saw the temp needle move. It scared the crap out of me and I pulled over right away.

Front knuckle rebuild done.
Full brake overhaul coming up.
New heatshields with turbo in place (doable but sucks)
90* elbow added to PCV line.

Hi im a new 80 owner and doing some baseline work on everything for my first time, how does the elbow on the pvc help? Is it better that it doesn’t have to bend? This question must sound like im 10 yrs old lol.

Quick question - are you using spacers? If so, what brand and specs? If no, what are your wheel specs?

Thanks!

@CYKBC no wheel spacers. they are 17'' Stealth Custom Series BR6 Bronze with 3.5'' backspacing. I am a little bummed out that I didn't research enough before purchasing and then found out that the center cap lip has to be bore out to clear the hub. This makes the center cap no longer usable. The look of the wheel without the center cap changes big time. I am a little over them to be honest. I just have not seen another 17'' wheel I like too much more yet. I love the stock wheels, but the tire options for 37's are pretty limited. I did run 1.25'' wheel spacers on my stock 16's with 35's when I ran that prior. Those wheel spacers I had got 80 series specific from Cruiser corp.

He has a turbo installed on his, so a lot of custom stuff. That's why he needs it. Yours does not if it's "stock".

Found the same issue on mine yesterday. I've ordered grommets for a 4Runner. Couldn't find them as a separate part for the 80. Fingers crossed that they are the same.

Today’s project was installing a Huracan Fabrication tailgate storage lid. Pretty happy with the quality and ease of install.

As far as the 80 goes, just drove it last weekend. Will change the oil and top off fluids in preparation for a trip to OBX.

I have a couple of fj80 3fe related projects. I am going to be adjusting my valves this weekend. I have one that likes to come out of speck every so often... hopefully its not an underlying issue. Then at the same time while I have it apart I will be replacing my oil pan gasket and possibly the tensioner pulleys on the engine (if they get here by Friday) Hopefully the old gal will be running like a top after. this all being said its a daily and it runs pretty good for being 30 years old. The weekend after this one I will be installing ome stock hight springs. this should be fun... hopefully I don't have to replace too many things I break in the process haha. Gotta love these old money pits.

Didn't realize you had a drifta set up in the back. Looks amazing...where did you order?
Yep, I had Luke and his crew do a custom build for me. Two stacked drawers on the left with a table slotted between. Fridge cabinet on the right with a 2nd table stored above the cabinet. 40L stainless steel water tank filling up the space behind the 2nd row seats. I ordered through Matt ag Kakadu Camping, he is the North American distributor for Drifta products.

I still haven’t gotten around to fitting the side wings....but will get to that soon.
