I got my gentex mirror installed today. Thanks to @NLXTACY for the awesome mounting bracket. It would have been a nightmare for me to try to mount it on the windshield.

Went to Georgia (in the Caucasus), driven about 10k miles in one month through Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine. The highlight was Caucasus mountains in Georgia near the Chechen border. The treks to Shatili and Omalo are amazing, the highest mountain pass in Europe (Abano pass) which is in about 2850 meters is really breathtaking. Prior to the journey, I have finally installed the 4.88 gears and lockers sent by ZUK and redid the power steering pump and gear box (which was rebuilt by Texas Offroad).

I took the 80 and drove Skyline Trail here in Utah. It is about an 80 mile dirt road drive, that runs along the top of the Manti La-Sal and the western ridgeline of the Wasatch Plateau. You are above 9000ft the entire drive and I think the highest point was 11,600ft. It was a gorgeous drive, but you really need a couple days to camp and explore to make it worth it. I was super rushed to get the entire trip done in one day and was probably driving a little fast for the rough ass roads. Haha.

Starting to provide some travel guide service. I co-guided a large group in Moab for the holiday. I used this very nice HDJ80 to shuttle a couple of clients down the Shaffer switch back and back up. Although their vehicles had AHC it wasnt enough to handle the road.
Your timing needs to be quick to get a picture when they are on the road as they take driving seriously.

Your post brought back some good memories.

I worked for Caltex in the early 80s. We don't have Caltex here in the US. We have Chevron who bought Texaco. When Caltex was originally formed the US government refused to allow Chevron and Texaco to merge in the US so they simply merged overseas (southern half of the eastern hemisphere) and formed Caltex. I believe this was in the 1930s. Chevron and Texaco finally merged in the US a few years back but we still have both Texaco and Chevron stations here in Texas.

Ground these suckers down and fixed a hole.
