I decided it was time to replace my center console as I really hate not having an armrest. Since security is not really a concern, I went with the cheap option and put in a Smittybilt. I used the existing bolt holes for the stock console towards the rear and put a nut zert into the stock floor mount towards the front. I did not use the riser piece that comes with the console.

Do you have a model#? I think it looks great!!

Thanks. Smittybilt 31815, for the one with black denim pad. They also come in Grey and Tan.

The slider windows from AUS finally arrived! They took the slow boat but they made it here in great condition. Plans are to tear them down, powder coat the frames, and reinstall with all new rubber. The dogs will be very happy about these.

Also received new front corner lamps. You have to love new OEM parts! :D

Sometimes the simplest of tasks ends up being the most annoying. Take removing the front bent bumper. At some point in this 62's life, before my wife bought it years ago, it was involved in a minor fender bender. Took me a while to figure out why it had been resprayed in a crappy way. I discovered that the front right fender and the front valence have a good amount of bondo under them. :/ Luckily the frame, wheel well and front clip are not damaged. Anyways, fast forward to today when I wanted to take off the front bumper. When they re-attached it to the frame, they used like 8 different sized bolts (metric and standard)! WTF!!:crybaby:

Bondo rears its ugly head:

Anyone have any non-mangled bumper frame horns they want to part with? :)

So, during the last week I finished spraying underbody sound deadener on, then replaced the fixed eye pins and bushes (the oxy was needed), and then yesterday I had new Dueller D697's put on... I would have liked to go to 33's, but being a daily driver, and used to tow my boat on holidays, the 31 x 10.5 15's are the perfect compromise between off-road ability and daily duties (for me...)

Did my own distributor recurve to gain full advantage of my recent desmog. Cost me a whopping $17 and works great!

Do tell.

I really love the how the trailer came out. What color are you painting it?

I can't divulge yet. The new owner never said I could/n't let the cat out of the bag. So, I didn't push. I will post finished pics in my trailer build thread when finished.

It will however have a couple coats of grey epoxy primer though... HA!

The door locks came from the HDJ81 that I purchased.
Truck was used as a donor for my 60, HDT-1 along with the 5 speed, locks, etc.
Will see if it freezes up here in the great white north, but I don't think I will have any issues.

It's a pain to replace windows. It took me 4 hours to replace the front window the first time. I can probably do it in a quarter of the time now. I think I would rather pay someone to do it

^^ THIS, I just call my local glass guy and he can install ALL 4 pieces of glass in about an hour. Charges me 50$, SO, for that $$ its not even worth my time and headaches to try and do it. I'd say he can install a side window in about 5-8 minutes.

Call a shop or two and see what they charge.

New Lift Support Depot struts for the rear hatch. Now I have to watch my chin when opening the hatch rather than the top of my head when closing. A few seconds of a torch on the old thread locked bolts melts that stuff right away and they came out super easy.
