Tried replacing the factory rear dome light with a Sylvania DE3175 12.8v, 0.5w LED light and blew fuse position 53 (10A for Dome 1).

What did I do wrong?

Surprising that the blown was not the 7.5A Dome 2 (position 39) one that the manual said was for the rear.

I didn't have a spare 10A so I swapped out the 10A one for the horn, put the old bulb back, and everything works again. Got to get another fuse tomorrow and hope I don't have to honk the horn at anyone on the way.

Thoughts...about the LED/fuse that is?

Just finished swapping all the other lights with LEDs, except the rear cargo light which is now mocking me.

Not sure what I did wrong to blow that fuse. The light briefly light, then poof. Wonder if I bought the wrong bulb. Sure is a tight fit too.

Only time I've ever blown a fuse installing a dome light was when I accidentally grounded the bulb as I was trying to wrestle it into the clips.

Did you use that same style/size LED bulb in any of the other fixtures in the truck?

I'm also thinking I accidentally grounded it. Had the rear door open while I was fiddling with it. Think I'm going to try again this time with the door closed and thus the circuit closed and see what happens.

That was the first one of those bulbs I tried. It's a Sylvania DE3175 bulb.

Thanks for the reply.
