I am in a moral quandry. This truck is being restored to OEM specs, more or less. There are some upgrades: 12 volt electrical. LED stop/turn lights. Original engine, although punched out .060 over and original crash box non-synchro tranny. This is a work truck. I haul afalfa and water to our cattle in snowy pastures no other truck I own can cross in winter. This truck was built to "go forward" and that it does. God bless it and General Patton!

Part of me believes it should be repainted OD (old style Army OD). However, part of me wants to paint the body British Racing Green metallic and the fenders gloss black. I saw this two tone combo on a late 1940s chevy PU many years ago and it stuck in my mind as pretty groovy. So, my question to you Cruiserheads, people of obvious taste, discernment and intelligence, is: am I committing a sin by not sticking with the military paint job?

Lowenbrau, I hear that. It is just that I have been nearly clipped trying to make a left turn off our rural highway so many times that I am ready to shoot off flares and release a jet of steam on the left side. It would be great if people actually saw the turn indicator for a change. Even with a 12Volt upgrade, the old style incandescent bulbs are not bright enough for sunny New Mexico. The original 6 volt bulbs would be criminal negligence on my part!

I will think over what you wrote. Thanks for the feedback.

This isn't a poll???

My vote goes to fire truck red!

Second place is racing green n black.

OD....but, if its going to get dirty and a little beat up out in the back 40, rattle can flat black...always the easy fix. Oh yeah, DO go with the LEDs....my family and I almost became worm food when a 40's truck stopped suddenly in poor visability and didnt see him until it was almost too late.

Day glow orange with charteuse racing stripes. It will look so cool! No one would miss it.
