i have two big rubber/metal washers about 75mm in diameter and a plain metal washer about 70mm diameter left over from replacing engine mounts.... only problem is that i took the engine out ages ago because im doing a full rebuild on a hj45.... soo i have noo idea where they go.

sorry i cant post pictures yet, because this is my first post, of many to come!!

Thanks in advance for any help

and as soon as i can ill post some pictures of the build

Welcome Jake. Can't wait to see your HJ45

I've been around a while so at least I can post pics....

Maybe this one'll be useful to you in identifying your left-over washers:

thanks tom.

that explains the two bigger rubber backed washers... part 12383 on your diagram

the other big washer is still a mystery however.

I also have the new square type front engine mounts, but i am having a small alignment issue trying to get the engine back onto its mounts, could this have anything to do with it? i think i can make it fit, but i dont like to force things that much... all of the mounts are loose, i have bolts loosely in the front mounts, but the left hand side doesnt seem to have much weight on it

to get the tranfer case mounts to line up, the engine needs to come back an inch.

thanks

Jake

I'm in the middle of swapping my 1980 hj45 running gear into a 1978 fj45 truck do you have the front mounts like Toms parts manual or the later square units.

i have the square type ones... thats what i took out of it and i thought/assumed that they were original, but perhaps not??

I'm assuming your original engine mounts were the round type.

So best to lay an old round mount alongside a new square mount and make a comparison.

Sometimes the upper and lower fixings are directly in line and sometimes they are offset. This could be your problem I think.

Here's what I mean:

Oops. You made a new post while I was posting this..

So your old ones were square too...

Never mind ... I still suggest doing a comparison between old and new (assuming the old ones did fit OK)

Thanks all.

I have the same as the ones on the left of that picture with no offset.

The only issue I have is that the mount on the back left has a bolt (part 91619 61228) that goes into it from the top that is bigger than the hole in the rubber washer stabilisers (part 12383) and this is the original bolt that i took out of it... thoughts?
