So while I was replacing my LX turn signals with the LC signals I came across these two plugs. I found them on the drivers side of the vehicle right behind the turn signal assembly within the same wiring cluster. The lighter colored one didn't really draw my attention but the other one did due to its condition. The darker plug seems to have a bit of corrosion on it and it also seems to have had a meltdown of some sort.

They do not belong to the fog light assembly as I isolated those when I removed my bumper.

No codes have ever come up and everything electrical seems to be working fine. The vehicle is a 1998 LX 470.

The only mod that I can find that was done by one of the PO's was a trailer wiring mod. They put a trailer brake on and upgraded the connection for the trailer. The center console does have a plastic plug next to my shifter as though something was modified there but Im not seeing and remnants or other signs of a mod under the hood.

Any thoughts?

I recently had the same question on my lx. From what I understand the general consensus is that these most likely are wires for optional headlight washer wipers and cleaners...

Drogon, thanks. That would make sense. I will look into that. My next concern would be why it looks like it had some thermal issue. It might be hard to tell but the plastic has melted on the face of it.

I'm not sure what would have caused that. Mine look bad as well, I attached a pic of mine...

I just left them as I found them. However, I would think they should be protected and not exposed, but mine appear to shot anyway.

Hopefully we might have a few more members confirm how theirs looks and if they are capped or something..
