I just talked to the guy that picked up my top off the side of the road. He said he found it about a mile or 2 from where i noticed it missing. He sold it on craigslist and thats how I got his number.

Fxxx that pisses me off. you win some you lose some, I guess.

is that the one that was in the for sale section from earlier today? Thats just wrong, but I guess you had written it off at that point.

Just to be clear I am not mad at the guy. He found a perfectly good top and turned a profit. Nothing realy wrong with that. I am just pissed at myself over the whole situation :bang:.
Yes for those that dont know I was towing my 40 headed down 95 when I lost the top.

check out the thread i started a few days ago called

hard top redo.

You know I saw that top on craiglist and saw what I thought was an ONSC sticker on it, didn't really give it a second thought though.

Like you said though Del this was a while ago that you lost it, he found it and sold it not really anything wrong with that. Sucks for you though.

That almost happened to me on the way up 85 with my 40. I stopped for fuel and the top had worked its way up about 5 or 6 inches. Sucks that you lost it but at least you didn't cause any serious chaos (that you know of) when that thing whipped off coming up the interstate.

More details.

I take it that it blew off and flew off into the right hand side where we couldn't see it comming back. Bummer. I can't believe it was still in good shape.

Yeah you can't blame him but man that sucks...didn't you post up in the main section that you lost it?

That really sucks!

It reminds me of a guy on nc4x4 that lost a 44" tire on a custom beadlocked wheel off of his trailer. He had all 4 tiers/wheels strapped down to the trailer going down I-40 when the straps came loose and he lost one of the tires. A few days later, the tire was for sale on Craigslist. He contacted the seller to see if he would give it back, even sent pics of the tires/wheels on his rig. The guy made him buy it back!

I realize that the guy didn't have to give it back, but that was kind of a shady deal in my opinion.

Well if it had the Olde North State Cruisers sticker on it, a respectable person could have done a search on it, posted on our website, and made sure it got back to the owner... before selling it on craiglist. And no lost and found posting on Craiglist for it....
