what am I missing here?

front, driver's side of engine compartment. maybe some kind of air dam or something for the intake? there is a plug that goes to nothing and it looks like a few available holes to mount something....I have pics and will try to get them up tonight.

any help would be appreciated!

maybe the carb fan, is it toward the back near window?

not the carb fan. right in front, behind the driver's side headlight in the engine compartment.

the only other thing like that is the fresh air intake for the air filter housing. black 2~3 inch plastic tube with three bump outs on end. just fits into matching hole behind head light.

what is the reservoir for right behind the air intake duct? I am missing that too and I believe that is where I believe the plug with no home should go.

headlight washers, depending on year, yours might not have had them, think 81-3 didn't get them standard.
