I took my two oldest boys and met up with some friends from Konza Overland a couple weeks ago. The Land Yacht has been running fine, just the usual stumble that we've been hunting to find the source of for a while now.
Here's the link to the trip report: The LandYacht: Land Cruiser Field Report – Western Kansas
After we got back, a couple days later the truck began this stumble at low/partial throttle. If would go away once the RPMs climbed high enough. I ran by @BILT4ME's house and he suggested we change out the spark plugs, the non-OEM wires, the distributor cap and the rotor. See if that fixes it and if it doesn't then we'll keep hunting for the cause.
Well, we replaced the all of that plus an EGR valve that I brushed my hand near. The ends where the vacuum hoses connect came off the old valve.
We have eliminated the misfire, weird throttle issue. Haven't noticed the rpm hunting yet, but don't want to claim victory on that too soon. Hopefully, it's all back to normal. Huge THANK YOU to @BILT4ME for swinging by and helping pull part of the old spark plug wire rubber that was stuck down the tube on the #6 cylinder. I was completely out of patience and he was able to get it fished out!
