I met up with my friend symon623 today and some guys from the TTORA board and went wheeling! As the title says we went to sunflower mine. It was a little cold and wet airing down. We then decided to do the trail counterclockwise. Going north on fS201 to 201A.
That is some beautiful country up there as the road climbs into the pines. We ever got into some snow. (on the ground, not falling)
Our guide books said that that would put the hardest part of the trail behind us as the day wore on.
Top Photo is of the beginning of the trail.
Middle Photo is the road out of Sunflower Mine or of the creek that the road turned into. It was raining pretty hard by the time we were heading out.
Bottom photo is of the only mishap that happened.
No harm no foul....
We got out and then drove a couple of miles to a tunnel under the highway to air back up out of the rain.
Did the whole loop in about 2 and a half hours.
Kudos to our trail lead from the TTORA board.
