Hey everyone,
I just picked up a new blower motor (from the dealer) for my 87 fj-60, and in the box along with the blower motor is a clear plastic tube/sleeve that is abot 1 1/2 inches long. What is the tube for? Also what are the steps again to replacing the motor? Do I have to mount any old parts on the new motor?

Thanks,
Zack

You can get water inside the blower motor as it can run down from the bonnet vents when it's raining. There should be a tube running from under the blower motor and down through the floor (to drain the water back out). The tube that was supplied may have something to do with that. Otherwise, sometimes manufacturers put pieces of tube over shafts to protect them during transit, just make sure that it's simply not one of those. You might have to refer to a microfiche to see how it all goes together, or just take note during disassembly of the old one.
