Well I got a retrofit with the bling headlights!

Agreed, I'd like to know the exact specs of the ones in this thread. I'm confident I can do the retrofit myself, but lacking the measurements of everything makes it a potentially expensive proposition. If I'm going to proceed I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and take a chance. I know the FX-R's get good reviews, my concern with the Mori Mini's might be more for driving/fog applications.

Its the morimoto mini h1 bi xenon projector. Search it on google. It is a nice fit in the sonar "bling" headlights. I had the ones with the hids in them already if that helps any. It is no cutting required. All you will need is a cover to properly cover the back of the headlight bulb housing as shown in the first pics in the post. The guy gave me one. You can find that any where.

More daytime pics.

Great info, thanks! Can't wait to see night time cut-off pics. If you can shoot some with low and high beam at a wall or something that would be great.

Whats the story on the blacked out turn signals? Are those JDM or did you just spray bomb some clear ones?

Ok i will shoot it tonight. No problem. They are actually on par with the FX projectors actually. I had them a camry and the intensity is identical. The width of the beam is not far behind but it is totally impressive especially for the size of the projector. I'm sold on it.

I really like the FXR's because they get really good reviews, and Like Chef I feel that the minis are only for small fog or motorcycle applications.

Yeah FXR's for me, I will follow in this guys steps. The OEM look with Hid just looks beautiful, check it out here CHEFJ.

GALAND You went with the MiroMoto?

Yes i did. It fits perfectly in the housing for the sonar lights. You actually have more breathing room than the original projectors that was in there in the first place.

Yeah they do look smaller compaed to FXR's

I am still Undecided waiting on your cut off pictures and high beams to pull the trigger.

I like that the Moto's are $120 and come with the shrouds so I wouldn't need many more things to buy.

Well just an H1 hid kit and some time to install and you are good.

Here are some more night shots. I need to unpack my digital camera to try to capture the intensity of the output. and the width is to be determined. it easily covers a 4 lane highway i have to just travel with them and see its limits. I know it has the tsx projectors beat in width by a long shot.

Low beam cut off from about 30 feet

A failed attempt to capture the high beam output cut off from 30 feet.

Output looks nice, but those lights just aren't my style.

I would stick with the fx-r's. The minis need to be modified a little to produce a cutoff similar to the fx-r and the fx-r yields a wider beam which is a plus in this large of a vehicle. Minis are very nice for what they are but I'm not that much of a fan of them since they use h1 bulbs which means your only option for oem bulbs are re-based ones.

I feel you on the styling. Everyone has a preference when it comes to lighting. I ordered a pair of depo lights from a guy selling them off of ebay. I know i want to get those retroed but i have got to find a clear plastic headlight lens cover. I lost my last set to a big rock and i refuse to let that happen again. I like the style of the depo but the glass front and rocks are a night mare. I will retro my depos with an fx projector i have premodded already.

As far as the projector cut off i honestly like the mini better because its easier to see signs. Without aiming them high which is a key thing. Yea you do have to use a rebased kit which means no OEM bulbs. I'm using a 55 watt Phillips hid bulbs and vvme ballast. That combination is the best for output from your bulb. (it was a big discussion in the solara forum) I like oem bulbs but OEM ballast are a different story.
