As many of you know, a proper rear disk brake conversion requires welding the tombstone brake line brackets to the axle housing. Rather than pay someone $30 to do this I did the sensible thing and bought a welder. After a few hours of practice I nutted up and welded those bastards on. No holes in the housing so I'm pretty happy.

Thanks to an FJ40 and this forum I now have the welder I've wanted for >10 years.
 
Nice job on the weld.. Having a good welder certainly helps.. :-)
 
Nice job.

Funny how much one can do with a good welder - things that could never be attempted otherwise. I consider it my most important tool these days as I continue to cut away the cancer on my 40. ;p
