I am a bit more sympathetic as I can see myself doing this very same thing. I probably wouldn't wait as long with those symptoms, especially pissing anything but normal urine, but we have all been there!
I have spilled gasoline on my hands and breathed the fumes more than I should. I have routinely welded, hovering over the fumes, without my breathing mask (yes, its rated for organic gases). I have also mixed various cleaners when in a rush, just like the dude in the article. I have plucked wire wheel debris from my shirts, jeans and skin.....knowing that my eye protection is inadequate. In short, when trying to complete a project I take more risks to conserve time...thinking that I can handle the risk.
That's my full disclosure and I am sure others are the same way. Now I know that heating up brake cleaner is stupid dumb....and can kill you quickly.
