I just bought a 85 fj60, it has a weber carb on it. The po installed it and I'm not sure what he did. Is there a place I could take it down by Joliet, that would be able to work on it. Thanks

well, I think everyone knows my opinion on local mechanics lack ability to spell toyota let alone work on them....but I do know of a mechanic in new lenox who did alot of good work on rays 60. Ill try to get the name.

X2 on the fuel regulator! I run mine at 4 psi and haven't had a problem. You can pick on up from vatoZone or O'Reamly's for a cheap price. Once you get the regulator, set up the carb to Weber specs. Go here REDLINE - Serving the U.S., Canada, Central and South America for over 30 years and under Tech Resources it'll tell you how to set up the weber. There's only 2 adjustment screws on them so it's rather easy to do yourself with just a flat screw driver.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if it has a fuel regulator
It is pretty messed up, he has golf tees plugging up vacuum hoses. I think it is out if my league to try and fix it. I would be interested in the guys name over in New Lenox. Thanks

standon automotive tech in New Lenox, on schoolhouse rd.

Vehicles made prior to 1995 are not smog checked in Illinois. Check the De-Smog thread in the 60 series section and de-smog the truck. It'll get rid of those pesky vacuum lines and pollution control devices. We almost did that to Patrick's 60 series today.
