Weather strip

[Finally Mine]

I have a 78 FJ40 and needless to say the weather strip around the doors has seen better days. I have looked at CCOT and SOR for replacement and can't believe the cost of a piece of rubber. Has anyone found another company or used something different around the doors?

Steve, I have heard for the past several years, if you want it to fit, seal, and last then you need to go OEM. However, if you think CCOT or $OR are expensive, you may pass out when you see OEM prices.

You might get lucky with a generic universal fit... but I doubt it.

toyota has lowered their prices. I bought my two front door w/s for 77 front doors. it cost me 50 bucks a door. they used to be 65 bucks a door ( with tlca discount) sor is 75 bucks.

also just to note -
the oem windsheild pad is 165 from toyota where as on sor. its like 185

just trying to help you out. if i were you i would def stick with oem

get a tlca # card and go to toyota

Thanks for the information, just want the doors to close and seal properly. By the way what is a "tica card"? Still trying to get a handle on all the abreviations used in a number of threads.....
