We need to have 2-3 members from Tall Corn Cruisers volunteer to be part of the mid-central event commitee. You will have input on how the event is run, and are not mandated to take a major role in the event other than that.

Please take this opportunity to step up and be a part of a huge TLCA event!

As of this morning, yes. I heard zero objections either on line or via PM/ e-mail, so I made an executive decision. I think this is a good opportunity to get out and see other clubs/ events/ areas. I still plan on pushing for a spring or early summer event for TCC members either at MIOBI or elsewhere. Less structured than a typical 'classic'.

Moab anyone? The trails out there are public, no need to wait for CM09- just caravan out there. I'm crossing my fingers that gas will stay cheap for a while.... I burned though some serious gas $$ on my way to CM08. Wheeling in Moab is something everyone should do at some point.

Thanks Larry!

Anyone else?

Or some of us could caravan down to HowiePalooza (at SMORR) since Merle 'Howie' Howard is a native Iowan and huge supporter of wheeling! This would give us a chance to pre-run the park a little and have a great time!

Colorado is also a great trip. Pick a section, there are 2 really good trail books.

I'm happy to hear that we are on board. :bounce:
I really believe that this will be a great event, and while it's not planned to take place every year, it would be nice to alternate chapter events with this larger collaborative event on odd years. As we all know, it takes an army to put an event together and make it happen. Looks like the army just got a lil bigger.
As far as participation by the chapters at the event, registration desk/tent and trail leading should be all. Food is going to be catered and there are a couple of us that will handle the raffle. Also there has been some discussion of taking groups (if interested) over to Flat Nasty to run that park for a day or two.

Both the pre-run at SMORR and Colorado ideas sound great. I have been on several trails in Colorado and partipated in Red Cone with Rising Sun back in '07. Not as far to CO as Moab. I found the high passes in Colorado closed until mid summer, though. -

We could go over to Attica, IN as well...very nice park.

Colorado sounds good, or maybe the black hills. This will mean more vacation time so I will have to consult the :princess:. We had talked about a trip to S.D. so that could kill two birds w/ one stone.... Do we have any dates yet for the "Jamboree"?

last W-Su of September or the first W-Su in October

The Black Hills Cruiser Classic is in mid-July each year. Larry, Casey and I have attended the BHCC and it's a good time. The campground they've been using the last 2 years is about 4 miles from Deadwood.

Just as another reference point, I'll be in CO (Pagosa Springs area - near Silverton, Durango, and maybe Ouray) the last week of July/first week of August. Don't have the dates nailed down yet, but it will be around that time. We went last year, but some of the family that was along didn't like the idea of wheeling much. That part of the family will not be with us next year, and I hope to do more mild wheeling around the San Juan Mountains.

rules?

Is this a Toyota only event, or will it be like Tall Corn where we can bring a friend with a non-Toy vehicle???

Jim

As far as I know, that has still not been 100% vetted out.

As big as this has the potential to be, don't be surprised if it becomes toyota only.
