But not a drop to drink.

98 4Runner with 165k. Leaking all over the front of the engine. Water pump went out unexpectedly. Checked the forums and have a good idea what is needed just have a couple questions.
1) Is it worth it to get the 2 idler pulleys? Pretty expensive even from CDan.
2) What about the tensioner? I can get the snap-on tool but tensioner runs about 30 bucks?

List so far:
Pump
Pump gasket
Belt
TStat
Tensioner

What do you all think?
Is that enough?

With your mileage it's probably worth your while to replace everything. both idlers, the tensioner the seals, pump etc etc etc.

Don't want to have to open it up again for something like that. Should be good again for at least another 165,000 miles. :)

Not difficult at all. Just need to make sure not to score the camshafts, usually pretty easy to remove with a flat screwdriver punched through the middle of the seal.

Note seal depth before removal.

Liljon, how much does the rockauto kit cost?

I used to have a list of what it cost to order online from like, 1sttoyotaparts or toyotapartspeople. Looks like I'll have to do some comparison.

Nope. that was belt, both idlers, and pump. They have a kit with the tensioner but it was cheaper to buy it from Toyotapartsales.
