I changed all the belts, coolant hoses, heater hoses, t-stat, clamps, etc. when I replaced the radiator and kept the good items as spares.
I would do the complete job, or as much as is reasonable.
At the very least...
you'll probably need to cut off the small oil cooler hose at the bottom of the water pump and change the by-pass hose. The lower oil cooler hose is probably shot from oil spills.
Also, the exposed 1/2" heater hoses underneath the floorpan to the rear heater core are usually shot. Don't try to twist these off. Cut them.
Reverse flush your rad and both heater cores.
The t-stat needs both 2 gaskets.
It would also be a good idea to change the 4 t-stat housing bolts. These corrode and break off.
BTW... I'd say it's better not to be too
"defiant" when replacing stuff. You might break something.

The cost would have been too much to do everything. I ordered a new pump, new t-stat gaskets, new belts, and a complete set of oil cooler hoses. All of that was enough $$$ for now. Figured those will be hard to get at later. I'll take a close look at the others and replace as necessary.
The rear heater hose your talking about, is it located on the floor crossmember that's right behind the t'case on the passenger side? If so, the hose look fine the last time I was under their. Which was last friday while I was changing out an exhaust donut/gasket.
